Today’s featured game is from Christine Cadalzo. She has taught for 12 years in upper elementary, in all types of settings (urban and subburban, with ELLs and sepcial education students). Christine recently left the classroom to begin transitioning to a career in global philanthropy, but she still teaches Citizenship and English to adults, and teaches children through her volunteer work. She created this game, Wheel of Fractions (and Decimals).

How to Play the Game:
This is a fun math game that teaches base 10 concepts with fractions. Using spinners, students will develop understanding of tenths, hundredths, and (optionally) thousandths. This game provides practice with converting fractions to decimals, building fraction/decimal concepts, adding or subtracting decimals and comparing decimals. It could be used as a whole class activity, game time choice, math center, or for students who finish early.
