I needed a Mother’s Day gift idea that
would be easy to make in a class of 5 boys, between the ages of 9 and 12, who
hate crafts. My Facebook followers
helped it out and gave me the great idea of making clay key chains with their thumb
prints!! How cool! I totally loved the
idea and looked it up online, only to find an even better idea of making the
thumb prints into a heart!
This is one I made with my son on Sunday, to try it out (I always test out crafts and activities before I make them at school!). How cute! I love it!

Materials Needed:
Polymer clay
key chain rings
rolling pin
oven
baking sheet
glitter paint or
glue (optional)
Soften Polymer
clay with hands and roll into shape desired, 1/4" thick. Press thumb in clay to make a heart. Insert straw in clay to make a hole for the key chain ring. Bake
on a baking sheet at 275 F, for 15 minutes. Let cool
and paint if desired.
These are the ones we made in class this week.
We also painted and decorated small boxes to put the keychains in. What mother (or grandmother) wouldn't love to have this?
Happy Mother's Day!

I love this idea! So simple but personal. I just shared them on my blog. Thank you!
