The Best Teacher Gift

Although I never expect gifts from my students at Christmas time, I love seeing how excited they get when they give me a little something.  When I came across this linky party this morning, I knew I just had to share some of the things I got this year.

Along with the usual candy, chocolate, coffee mugs and hot chocolate (and Timmies’ gift cards!), I received some very cool and creative gifts.  I especially love the handmade things that the kids make themselves.  One student gave me an entire box filled with paper snowflakes, that I quickly hung up in the classroom! 

My absolute favourite gift this year was actually a gift for someone else.  One of my students donated books to the Reading Room at Sick Kids Hospital in my name.  How thoughtful is that?!  I absolutely love the idea!  As nice as it is to get a little something from students, knowing that this gift will be enjoyed by many kids just warms my heart.  The card had a simple message: "Thank you for all the extra things you do with the class."
